As part of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools’ “Academies of Nashville” program, teachers from Hillsboro High School participated in a teacher externship at Averitt’s Cookeville headquarters to learn more about this expanding career path.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 21, 2012) — When it came time to celebrate 40 years of service, the associates of Averitt Express didn’t simply mark the occasion with a cake and balloons. According to officials from Chevron Lubricants, only carriers that demonstrate high performance and safety standards are considered for the award. Averitt maintained a pickup and delivery score of greater than 90 percent, while also receiving strong safety survey results, which included zero accidents.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2011) — Averitt Express was recently honored with the 2010 LTL Carrier of the Year Award by Parker Hannifin, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based manufacturer of motion and control technologies.

Parker Hannifin recognized Averitt based on several critical success factors. The full-service transportation provider met or exceeded Parker Hannifin’s goal of 97-98 percent on-time performance while handling an average of 1,800 shipments per month across its network, from Texas to Florida to Kentucky.
