FORT SMITH, Ark. (Sept. 14, 2012) — Averitt Express recently completed construction on a new Fort Smith facility on South Zero Street, which includes expanded operations to meet customer needs for customized warehousing and distribution.

The new service center, which is at the intersection of South Zero Street and State Highway 45, features more than 30 dock doors and 25,400 square feet of space. About 10,000 of that is enclosed space ideal for storage, processing and warehousing operations.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2012) — National Driver Appreciation Week is September 16-22, and Averitt Express is celebrating the annual, nationwide event by honoring its drivers who have achieved 20 or more years of safe driving with Averitt.

Averitt has nearly 250 associates who have accumulated at least 20 years of safe driving.

(June 11, 2012) — On a warm Saturday morning in May, more than 150 Averitt associates and family members made their way around a three-mile course during the transportation provider’s 5th Annual Averitt 5K Run/Walk. This year’s event set participation records for the fifth straight year.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (June 11, 2012) — Rogers Luna, vice president of sales for Averitt Express, was named the recipient of the 2012 National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council “Associate Member of the Year.”

Each year, the association presents this award to an individual from the service provider community who has shown leadership, continued commitment to the industry, and support of the association. This marks the first time an Averitt associate has received the award.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 21, 2012) — When it came time to celebrate 40 years of service, the associates of Averitt Express didn’t simply mark the occasion with a cake and balloons. In addition to recognizing the milestone with cookouts and “birthday” festivities, each of Averitt’s 150 locations throughout the South was challenged to accumulate 40 hours of community service in the Averitt 40 for 40 Community Challenge.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2012) — In recognition of its commitment to reliability and quality, Averitt Express was recently presented with a 2011 Outstanding Performance Award from Chevron Lubricants.

According to officials from Chevron Lubricants, only carriers that demonstrate high performance and safety standards are considered for the award. Averitt maintained a pickup and delivery score of greater than 90 percent, while also receiving strong safety survey results, which included zero accidents.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 13, 2012) — Averitt Express is launching a new business unit designed to target retailers in need of distribution services.

Through the new unit, Averitt Retail Distribution Services, the company is providing flow-through, along with customized delivery services catering to the unique requirements of retailers.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 3, 2012) — Averitt Express associates have once again provided a substantial monetary gift to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Averitt Cares for Kids recently presented St. Jude with a donation of $400,000 during an event held at the Memphis hospital.
