World Trade 100 magazine, a leading transportation industry publication, and SMC3, an industry trade association, have honored Averitt, PITT OHIO, The Reliance Network, and Toshiba America Business Solutions for developing and implementing creative and cost-saving logistics processes.

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. and Averitt Express Inc. had been working together in the Southeast for two decades with mutual success. As the two companies describe the relationship, they often worked together on solutions, not just prices. As a result, the two were able to create more supply chain flexibility and savings for Toshiba.

The new AverittExpress.com is the industry’s first 100 percent mobile-enabled website. Every shipping tool that is available on the site — literally dozens of tools — is mobile-friendly across all types of devices, including smartphones and tablets. This aspect makes the new site unique among transportation providers in Averitt’s class.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (December 4, 2013) — Averitt Express recently honored associate Jackie Moorehead for 35 years of service to the company.

Currently serving as a truckload fleet manager, Moorehead has played several roles during his time at Averitt, beginning his career as a part-time billing clerk. He has also served as Nashville’s service center director and corporate director of loss prevention, claims, security and safety.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (December 4, 2013) — Averitt Express recently honored associate George Johnson of Cookeville for his 30 years of service to the company.

Johnson began his career at Averitt as comptroller, and has served as executive vice president of finance and CFO since 1986. He is counted among the more than 750 Averitt associates who make up the company’s “Over 20 Team,” an exclusive group of associates who have served 20 or more years with Averitt.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (December 2, 2013) — Averitt Express is proud to announce driver Matthew McMillan was recently was recently named to the 2014 Tennessee Trucking Association “Tennessee Road Team.”

Tennessee’s Road Team is a statewide highway safety program sponsored by the Tennessee Trucking Foundation with major funding from Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. The Road Team is composed of a small group of professional truck drivers with superior driving records and a desire to spread the word about safety on the highway.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 23, 2013) — During a 20-year career with Averitt Express, Charlie Webster established a reputation for being a top-flight sales executive and a trusted friend. Recently, he added another title: retiree.

Webster was honored with a reception at the company’s Cookeville headquarters prior to his final day as an Averitt regional sales director.
