Company meets goal four months early

July 19, 2019 (Cookeville, Tenn.) – Averitt Express recently celebrated a major achievement in its ongoing efforts to support military veterans transitioning to civilian careers. After making the pledge in 2016 to hire an additional 1,200 veterans by 2020, the company officially completed its 1,200th veteran hire on July 9, accomplishing its intended goal with over five months to spare.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Averitt Express, a Tennessee-based transportation company, has always supported military veterans as they transition to civilian careers and now, the company is excited to announce its new on-the-job training (OJT) diesel mechanic program for veterans and family members with Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. This OJT program is part of Averitt’s commitment to hiring 1,200 additional veterans by 2020, adding to the hundreds of  veterans the company currently employs.

Averitt Express recently announced pay enhancements for newly hired regional truckload drivers.

Experienced over-the-road driving associates will now start at 46 cents per mile. For drivers with less than six months of experience, this rate will begin after they complete one of Averitt’s training programs.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Because of its growth of service to and out of the northeast, Averitt Express recently announced it has added new locations in Hagerstown, Md., and Saint Albans, W.V.

The new locations will provide flexibility for Averitt by allowing it to place more trucks in Maryland and West Virginia, which will help meet increasing demand for truckload services in both areas.
