COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 11, 2011) — Averitt Express continues to expand the flatbed operation it launched in early 2009.

At that time, Averitt’s flatbed presence existed only in eight key markets, including Birmingham, Ala.; Atlanta, Ga.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Ky.; and Nashville, Tenn. During the past 22 months, however, growing customer demand has spurred the transportation and supply chain management provider to quickly double its flatbed presence, resulting in a current total of 16 markets. Some of Averitt’s newest flatbed markets include Decatur, Ala.; Bowling Green and Lexington, Ky.; Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tenn.; and Tupelo, Miss. Averitt also provides dedicated flatbed service to one of its customers in Indianapolis, Ind., and Columbus and Springfield, Ohio.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 15, 2010) — Averitt Express announced the winners of its recent “F-150 4x4 Fuel Duel” challenge at a surprise ceremony held at its Greensboro, N.C., service center.

Driver Marty Robbins was randomly selected as the winner of the grand prize, a 2010 Ford F-150 4x4 pickup truck, from a pool of hundreds of eligible associates. In addition, 20 other Averitt associates each won a $500 fuel card after their names were selected from a random drawing.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2010) — It was a clean sweep for Averitt Express, as all six Tennessee Trucking Foundation Scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year were awarded to the transportation provider’s associates or family members.

Each year, the Tennessee Trucking Foundation, the charitable arm of the Tennessee Trucking Association, awards six scholarships to children, spouses or employees of TTA member organizations. This is the first time in the program’s seven-year history that all six scholarships have been awarded to Averitt associates or members of their families.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 16, 2010) — Averitt Express was recently selected as a ‘Green 50 Supply Chain Partner’ by Inbound Logistics magazine. Each year, the magazine publishes a list of those supply chain partners which it determines exhibit excellence in supply chain sustainability.

(June 3, 2010) — Averitt Express has announced the beginning of its ‘Ford F-150 4x4 Fuel Duel’ program, an initiative aimed at offering incentives to its associates who follow fuel-efficient practices. As part of the program, Averitt will be giving away 20 $500 gas cards and one fully loaded 2010 Ford F-150 4x4 truck.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 19, 2010) — The Reliance Network, an award-winning consortium of regional LTL carriers, today announced it has added two new carriers to its cross-continent coverage.

Mountain Valley Express and Peninsula Truck Lines have joined The Reliance Network as providers covering the Western U.S. The two new carriers replace DATS Trucking, which had previously provided service in that region.
