Inside the Averitt Dallas Service Center

Over the years we've had a lot of customers come visit our facility. What they're most impressed with is the vastness of the facility. It's approximately 40 acres. We have 220 doors, 350 parking spots, there's a lot of equipment moving around out here. A lot of people working and as busy as it is, we're still very organized. At this facility, we offer basically any service to move product from point A to point B. LTL is our core. We also have truckload, we have dedicated services, we have crosstown truckload, we do international, we move product into and out of Dallas from all over the world. We have what we call local customization where the customer comes in and they have a unique situation or move that they need done. We find a way to do it through our local customization. Pool distribution is a major part of our success here because we're basically overnight to all points in Texas from Dallas. It makes sense to talk to customers about bringing their business here on a pool distribution standpoint. We have a very tight security, electric fence around the perimeter. We also have a separate cage on our platform where we keep our bonded shipments locked. Their shipment can come in and come directly to us where it doesn't get tied up at customs at the airport and we actually have customs agents that come to our facility and do the inspection and secure until they're checked off and sent out for delivery. It's a good feeling to know that I have fellow teammates here that you know they'll take the ball and run with it we're going to find an answer for that customer, make them happy. We don't tell them we can't do that, our team here looks for the solution. What we have seen more of is customers, new customers coming to Averitt that had issues with our competitors damaging their freight, tearing it up, and they've come to Averitt to experience the professional handling that we provide for our customers. Our customers can have a confidence level that when they tender us business, we have the knowledge of how to handle their business so we can better service their needs. Dallas is here to do whatever's needed. In our business, we have to earn our stripes on each and every shipment, so we started with one customer, we started with 10 associates and now we have hundreds of associates and hundreds and hundreds of customers. One shipment at a time and one associate at a time and that's the power of one.
