I think it’s our personal touch that gives us the edge over the other truck lines. In fact, I’ve been accused of taking care of the customer TOO much — asking them to double check this or that.
Normally somebody might run in there and just say “sign my bill, I’ve gotta go.” But I want to make sure that the customer is taken care of. Because they’re what’s bringing me back tomorrow.
It’s one of the things I’ve learned in my time here at Averitt — if you tell someone you’re going to do something, do it. Don’t put it off. Do what you say you’re going to do. It’ll pay you back tenfold.
